The Healthcare Roundtable

How The Roundtable Works

The Members formally convene two times per year, in the spring and fall, for an interactive gathering. Participants identify the issues they want to explore and the experts they want to hear from. A typical Roundtable Meeting will feature 3-5 speakers (outside speakers and/or Members themselves) making presentations, both formal and informal, on recent trends and innovative projects.

The participants also enjoy the cross-pollination of ideas during Open Discussion sessions. Members are encouraged to present the issues/problems they are facing so that fellow Members can advise one another as peer consultants. During these interactive discussions, Members share new innovations and projects-in-process using a "grand rounds" format.

Corporate Partners
Several hand selected, non-competing organizations are invited to join the Roundtable as Corporate Partners who will sit at the table as colleagues to share their expertise and perspectives. Partners may test market strategies and product/service concepts using the Roundtable as an expert focus group and invite Roundtable organizations to be ALPHA/BETA sites. They will gain insights into market shifts and healthcare trends from the "best and the brightest" in the health field.

The Schedule and Dues
Members should plan for a two-day forum (this schedule may vary slightly at a given Roundtable Meeting per majority vote). Members are served continental breakfasts and lunch as well as a Networking Reception and/or Dinner, usually on the evening of the first day. A Member is welcome to send an appropriate substitute in the event he or she is unable to attend a scheduled Roundtable Meeting. In order to cover the costs of the semi-annual meetings, including speaker fees and the operating expenses of the Roundtable, Members will pay dues to participate in two consecutive Meetings--$2,495 for Patient Care Executives and $2,995 for all others. When a new Member has been referred by an existing Member, we offer a one-time dues discount.

The Meetings are pre-approved for non-ACHE Category II continuing educational credits.

The "think tank" approach of the Roundtable provides a very high quality educational experience unequaled in the healthcare industry.

“I always look forward to Roundtable Meetings which provide an excellent opportunity to learn what’s happening in other markets, exchange ideas on what works and what doesn’t with leaders in managed care.”

--Mayumi Fukui, VP of Managed Care, University of Chicago Hospitals & Health System, Chicago, Illinois, Member of THR/Managed Care Executives

“I have been attending seminars and updates for my continuing legal education for 20+ years.  The Healthcare Roundtable for Corporate Counsel is the best program in which I have participated.  It provides me with the opportunity to consult with the real experts on the issues I work on daily, and I receive suggestions and solutions from the men and women who have first hand knowledge of those issues.”

--William Sherwood, VP, General Counsel, Southern Illinois Healthcare, Carbondale, IL, Member of THR/General Counsel
